On the southern edge of a small Karst village stands a contemporary elongated house whose design blends discreetly into its surroundings while responding to the demanding climatic conditions of the Karst region. The building follows the traditional principles of Karst architecture, while enhancing them with modern materials, large glazed surfaces and a thoughtfully designed concept of living.
The house is positioned parallel to the terrain and clearly separates the public area facing the road from the more private area oriented towards the garden. The living area opens out in several directions, allowing an abundance of natural light to enter while creating a sense of spaciousness and connection with the surroundings.
Light Control as a Key Element of Living Comfort
Due to the large panoramic glazed surfaces, particular attention was paid to controlling light, heat and privacy. This is where ROLTEK external shading systems play an important role, enabling precise adjustment of the lighting ambience throughout the day.
The system effectively reduces indoor overheating during the summer months while maintaining a connection with the outdoors and preserving natural light. In the windy Karst environment, the stability and reliable operation of the shading systems are particularly important.
Functionality in Harmony with Architecture
External shading systems are not merely a technical element, but an important part of the building’s architectural concept. With their discreet installation and aesthetic integration, they complement the clean architectural lines and emphasise the contemporary character of the house.
At the same time, they contribute to greater energy efficiency by reducing heat gain in summer and helping to maintain a comfortable indoor climate throughout the year.
A Home Where Light Remains Under Control
This project clearly demonstrates how a carefully considered choice of shading systems can significantly enhance living comfort. ROLTEK systems ensure that light is not merely an aesthetic element of architecture, but an actively controlled part of everyday living comfort.
