Guide rails
High-quality guide rails ensure smooth and quiet movement of the roller shutter curtain. The guide rails can be individually adapted to your window sill by means of an angled cut or notch. Aluminium guide rails can be powder-coated in any shade from the RAL colour chart, while PVC guide rails can be finished with decorative foil.
Angled End Slat
All ROLTEK roller shutter systems provide a flawless design, as they are manufactured without visible fasteners. The angled split end slat is standard on the KARO and RA.3 systems. It provides easy access to the mechanism through the service opening whenever required. The PURO 2.XR system features a standard straight end slat, which is fully concealed inside the box, allowing even more natural light into the room.
Thermal Insulation
Energy-efficient construction means keeping energy consumption as low as possible. This is where ROLTEK top-mounted roller shutter systems perform particularly well. In addition to the excellent insulation properties of the boxes, heat loss through the window is also prevented by the lowered roller shutter curtain.
Different Box Colours
Installation conditions sometimes differ from the standard configuration. In such cases, part of the box may remain visible. This is not a problem, as we offer numerous options for finishing PVC boxes with decorative colours, or the box can be covered with an aluminium cover, which can be painted in any shade.
One Box for a Roller Shutter or Venetian Blind
In bedrooms, we want complete darkness, while in living areas we may prefer greater flexibility in controlling the amount of incoming light. The PURO 2.XR box, made of polyurethane foam, allows the installation of either a roller shutter or a Venetian blind, making it ideal for combining different types of solar shading on the same building.
Box Made of Double-Chamber PVC Profiles, Insulated with Polystyrene
The RA.3 system is intended for anyone looking for a high-quality, highly insulated roller shutter system without the need for integrated insect screens.
The box is made of double-chamber PVC profiles and insulated with polystyrene. The guide rails can be made of plastic, but we recommend aluminium guide rails as they offer even greater resistance to weather conditions. Like all top-mounted systems, RA.3 is installed together with the window into the prepared opening.
The greatest advantage of the RA.3 system is that the service cover is located on the underside of the box, so it is not visible from inside the room and can easily be covered with plaster.
Control Options
ROLTEK systems are designed for intelligent control and full integration into modern smart homes. Pento external roller shutters can be operated in various ways – with a belt winder, monocommand, switch or remote control. For even greater convenience, they can also be connected to the TAHOMA smart home system.
Dual Safety Function
ROLTEK wired and remote-control motors are equipped with a DUAL SAFETY FUNCTION as standard:
-
Lowered roller shutter function: the roller shutter is pressed against the window sill, making it impossible to forcibly lift the curtain.
-
Built-in obstacle detection: if the roller shutter detects an obstacle while moving, it stops immediately.

Frequently asked questions
In this section, we have collected the most frequently asked questions from our customers. If you cannot find the answer here, you can always contact us – we will be happy to advise you.
Are external shading systems suitable for areas with strong winds?
Yes. However, in areas exposed to strong winds, we recommend selecting a suitable type of shading system, such as the ZIP SCREEN OLIMP, and using wind sensors for additional protection.
Do external shading systems help with thermal insulation?
Yes, external shading systems significantly reduce indoor heat gain in summer by blocking solar radiation before it reaches the glass. This helps maintain lower indoor temperatures and reduces the need for air conditioning.
Is it possible to replace individual slats or components?
Yes. In the event of damage, individual slats or components can be replaced without replacing the entire system.
What does the warranty for roller shutters and external blinds cover?
The warranty covers: product functionality, resistance to weather conditions, the operation of motors and mechanisms, and the structural stability of the product.
Can external shading systems be combined with insect screens?
Yes. Insect screens are often combined with external shading systems and can be installed separately or integrated into the same system.
Do External Shading Systems Improve Burglary Protection?
Yes. External shading systems, particularly roller shutters and more robust external blinds, can make it more difficult to gain entry through windows and can therefore provide an additional level of security for the building.
